Project Manager - Clinical Studies (Ophthalmology)

About the role

TFS HealthScience, a global mid-size Contract Research Organization (CRO) partnering with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies through their clinical development journey, is hiring a Project Manager (1.0 FTE, home-based in the US) for its CDS Ophthalmology team. The Project Manager plans and manages multidisciplinary study teams (Site Management, Data Management, Statistics, Medical Writing, Regulatory and Safety) so that studies meet milestones, stay within budget and follow quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, in compliance with quality standards
• Manage the strategic aspects of projects and mitigate risks arising from technical and operational choices
• Communicate with clients, understand their needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
• Develop and maintain project plans and timelines, and track progress
• Train study team members on project-specific systems and procedures
• Manage the project budget, profitability and invoicing, and work with Finance & Accounting on profitability, revenue, margins and utilization
• Allocate resources with line managers, manage third-party vendors and report to management as needed
• Take part in capability presentations and bid defenses, and help improve customer satisfaction
• Contribute to procedures, guidelines, SOPs and metrics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in life sciences, or RN diploma
• 3 years of relevant experience in clinical research
• Knowledge of clinical research regulations and quality standards
• Understanding of project planning and metrics
• Ability to lead and manage staff, and excellent English communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
