Project Manager – Campus Design & Construction

About the role

The Project Manager supports Georgetown University’s mission by overseeing high‑quality campus design and construction capital projects. Reporting to the Planning and Capital Projects department, the role manages multiple projects from concept through construction and final turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from design concept through bidding, construction documents, and administration.
• Coordinate project teams that include clients, architects, engineers, and operations staff.
• Obtain approvals from internal entities and government agencies while adhering to budgets, schedules, and university standards.
• Conduct regular on‑site inspections to assess contractor performance and progress.
• Ensure compliance with the university’s living‑wage policy for construction labor.
• Design small‑scale projects, support master‑planning efforts, and prepare reports and presentations using design and planning software.
• Address technical problem‑solving assignments and collaborate across functional areas.

Required profile

• Experience managing capital‑project budgets ranging from $5,000 to $5 million (or higher).
• Ability to manage several projects concurrently.
• Strong communication skills for liaison with internal partners, external consultants, and contractors.
• Familiarity with university policies, code compliance, and government regulations.
