Project Management & Engineering Construction Co‑Op

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking a motivated undergraduate junior or senior to join its Facilities Department as a Project Management and Engineering Construction Co‑Op. The role provides hands‑on experience with office renovations, HVAC equipment upgrades, building automation integration, and evaluation of mechanical and electrical distribution systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project managers on construction and renovation projects, including AC unit and VAV replacements.
• Support equipment installations and upgrades such as AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps.
• Help integrate Building Management and Automation Systems (BMS/BAS).
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, take accurate meeting notes, and create presentation materials.
• Perform site inspections, walk mechanical spaces, and climb fixed ladders up to 10 ft.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to produce or modify 3‑D models and drawings.

Required profile

• Undergraduate junior or senior majoring in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
• Intermediate related work or volunteer experience preferred.
• Strong verbal communication, good listening skills, and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift boxes up to 30 lb, and navigate mechanical areas.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit 3‑D modeling.
