Project Engineer – Solar + Storage (Electrical Engineer)

About the role

Our client, a leading renewable energy developer, is looking for a Project Engineer – Solar + Storage to provide electrical engineering support across the full lifecycle of utility‑scale solar and battery projects. The role bridges development, engineering, procurement, construction and operations, ensuring technically sound delivery and optimal project economics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support from greenfield development through commercial operation for large solar and storage projects.
• Lead technical due‑diligence and develop engineering specifications, one‑line diagrams and technical exhibits for EPC contracts.
• Coordinate engineering activities during execution, including design reviews, issue resolution and optimization.
• Evaluate alternatives to improve performance, constructability, reliability and financial outcomes.
• Assist in EPC contractor selection, review technical proposals and support contract development.
• Specify, evaluate and procure major electrical equipment, including high‑voltage systems, and manage integration between owner‑furnished and EPC‑provided components.
• Support utility interconnection activities, liaise with utilities and independent system operators, and assist with interconnection agreements and transmission studies.

Required profile

• Electrical Engineer with experience on utility‑scale solar and/or solar‑plus‑storage projects.
• Proven ability to work across multiple project phases and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills to assess engineering alternatives and their impact on project economics.
