Project Engineer – Custom Enclosures Design

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to design custom enclosures for switchgear, UPS, motor controls, power control equipment, and generator sets at our Fibrebond manufacturing campus in Minden, LA. The role involves creating mechanical and electrical system designs, fire suppression, power distribution, alarm wiring, and environmental control for mission‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the drawing process from customer approval through as‑built stages with an assigned drafting team.
• Prepare original interior and exterior layouts based on customer specifications, including routing of conduit, electrical wiring, and structural configuration.
• Configure electrical systems, alarm wiring, and environmental control systems.
• Design mechanical, structural, and fire‑suppression systems for assigned projects.
• Specify components and purchased parts and produce AutoCAD drawings as needed.
• Enter and maintain project information in the Engineering Database.
• Ensure schedules and deadlines are met for each project.
• Support project management, production personnel, customers, and external engineering/architectural firms with design queries.
• Coordinate work with outside sub‑contractors and assist Quality Control on minor issues.
• Collaborate with the Code Compliance Manager on regulatory requirements.
