Project Director – Industrial Electrical Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the electrical execution of large‑scale industrial and infrastructure projects across the Southeast. This corporate‑based position provides senior‑level oversight from estimating through commissioning, while mentoring a team of Electrical Project Managers, Superintendents and field personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the electrical scope of major industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee electrical execution from estimating and pre‑construction through installation, commissioning, and close‑out.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Electrical Project Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, and field crews.
• Establish execution strategies, manpower plans, schedules, procurement plans, and productivity expectations.
• Maintain accountability for budgets, cost controls, forecasting, labor productivity, and profitability.
• Coordinate electrical activities with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, engineering, and procurement teams.
• Review project schedules to ensure electrical work aligns with overall milestones.
• Provide technical guidance on construction methods, sequencing, constructability, and field execution.
• Identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support estimating, proposals, change management, and business development as needed.

Required profile

• Senior‑level leadership experience in self‑performed electrical construction.
• Proven track record in project financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Extensive field operations experience with multi‑project oversight.
• Strong ability to mentor and develop engineering and construction teams.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
