Project Director – Industrial Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead large‑scale heavy industrial construction projects from award through closeout. This hands‑on leadership position oversees safety, schedule, budget, quality, client satisfaction and team performance across complex food & beverage, agriculture and industrial processing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall project execution from award to completion and closeout.
• Set clear goals, schedules, budgets and expectations for project teams.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, proactively resolving issues.
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, logistics and scheduling.
• Manage project costs, financial performance and change orders.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and turnover.
• Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation solutions.
• Lead Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Engineers and other personnel.
• Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, claims, changes and other commercial matters.
• Maintain rigorous safety and quality standards.
• Report performance, risks and financials to company leadership.
• Support estimating and business development with constructability and risk input.
• Ensure proper documentation, punch lists and project closeout.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading large‑scale heavy industrial construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage multiple contractors, trades, vendors and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of industrial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling and project controls.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, costs, change orders and financial performance.
• Excellent leadership, communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to make timely decisions and take ownership of project challenges.
• Experience in food & beverage, agriculture or industrial processing construction is highly preferred.
