Project Designer – Modular Compression Packages

About the role

The Project Designer develops detailed engineering models and drawings for modular, safety‑sensitive compression packages in a plant environment. Working within an engineering project team, the role combines design, coordination and production support to deliver high‑quality units.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project engineers, purchasing, fabrication shops and external fabricators to keep projects on schedule.
• Create complex plant modular compression models.
• Generate piping isometric drawings using Isogen, applying ANSI B31.3 standards.
• Produce detailed design drawings of structural skids, auxiliary drawings and bill of materials.
• Work closely with production teams in the fabrication facility to ensure accurate, timely, high‑quality units in a safety‑sensitive environment.
• Initiate creative design ideas to improve cost‑effectiveness and buildability.
• Implement design guidelines and incorporate feedback from internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience designing skid‑mounted gas compression or power generation packages.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx and 3‑D CAD design, with strong visualization skills.
• Thorough knowledge of drafting standards, P&ID, pressure vessel and structural design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
