Project Cost Analyst

About the role

Curtin Maritime is seeking a Project Cost Analyst to own day‑to‑day cost tracking and reporting for its dredging projects. You will consolidate cost data from multiple systems, ensure accuracy, and provide leadership with clean, decision‑ready numbers. This role builds the reporting infrastructure from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Aggregate and validate daily project costs across labor, charters, rentals, lodging, travel, consumables, services, stores, and fuel.
• Produce recurring cost packages comparing actuals to budget and flag variances early.
• Build and maintain weekly roll‑ups that tie site‑level spend to project budgets and reconcile with monthly FP&A actuals.
• Track bid‑to‑actuals on rentals and charters, monitor commitments in real time, and review/approve expenses, credit‑card spend, and POs.
• Design automated data pulls from platforms such as Procurify, Power BI, Dayforce, and Egencia, and document processes for consistency.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in cost analysis, project controls, FP&A or a related field, preferably in marine, dredging, construction or heavy‑asset industries.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a strong follow‑through on variances.
• Ability to work directly with field and site staff without disrupting operations.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI or comparable BI/reporting tool.
• Experience with procurement/expense platforms such as Procurify.
• Familiarity with payroll/labor systems like Dayforce.
• Knowledge of travel management tools such as Egencia.
