Project Coordinator – NYC DOT Street Furniture Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Project Coordinator to lead a team that maintains New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) street‑furniture assets such as bicycle racks, benches, leaning bars and wayfinders. The role combines project planning, data entry, and on‑site supervision to ensure daily inspections, cleaning, repairs and installations are completed efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and allocate crews to meet daily inspection and maintenance targets.
• Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning and maintenance materials for each crew.
• Assign work routes and monitor crew progress.
• Review and verify daily work data for accuracy.
• Facilitate weekly meetings with crews and NYC DOT to address issues and gather feedback.
• Inspect completed work orders to ensure quality standards are met.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a fast‑paced, multitasking environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing conditions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Advanced Excel skills.
