Project Consultant – Grant & Program Management

About the role

Momentum is seeking a Project Consultant to lead grant and program management initiatives for clean‑tech clients. You will work independently on defined scopes, delivering high‑quality reports and ensuring projects meet client objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Own assigned project elements, guaranteeing quality, timeliness, and alignment with client goals.
• Develop client‑ready reports, memos, and presentations that synthesize research and strategic recommendations.
• Coordinate and lead project meetings, documenting decisions and tracking action items.
• Maintain professional client communication, anticipate needs, and resolve challenges.
• Support design, management, and delivery of complex project scopes in collaboration with senior team members.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for new or follow‑on engagements.
• Mentor Project Analysts and Associate Project Consultants to improve performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Project Leadership, Business Operations, Market Strategy) for cohesive delivery.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and enhance Project Operations tools.

Required profile

• Strong consulting, writing, and project‑management expertise.
• Ability to produce data‑informed, actionable outcomes for clients.
• Self‑starter who can balance independent ownership with teamwork.
• Comfortable with a client‑facing role requiring 80% billable utilization.
• Willingness to be based in California and travel occasionally to Sacramento and project sites.
