Project Associate – Facade & Roofing

About the role

RAND Engineering & Architecture, DPC is seeking a motivated Project Associate (or Project Engineer) to join its Facade & Roofing department. The role supports the full project lifecycle for exterior envelope work, from proposal preparation through client acceptance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support on new façade and roofing opportunities.
• Examine building envelopes, develop scopes, and produce budget projections.
• Prepare and manage Local Law 11/FISP reports, site inspections, and documentation for DOB.
• Coordinate project designs with other disciplines and ensure compliance with DOB and LPC guidelines.
• Prepare construction documents, conduct bid solicitations, and perform construction observation and special inspections.
• Create and maintain project schedules, issue change orders, review payment applications, and oversee project close‑out.
• Monitor budgets, develop client relationships, and identify new work opportunities.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Architecture or Engineering.
• 2–5 years experience designing and administering exterior repair or roofing projects.
• Strong interest in building envelope, weatherproofing, masonry repair, historic preservation, and landmark projects.
• Prior experience with New York construction regulations, especially Local Law 11 and FISP.
