Project Architect

About the role

Formarch is seeking a creative, independent, and personable Project Architect to join its tight‑knit studio. The ideal candidate brings 5‑7+ years of high‑end residential architecture experience, a strong design sensibility, and the ability to manage projects from schematic design through construction administration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design development and construction administration for luxury residential projects.
• Produce design presentations, construction documents, and detailed drawing sets.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Research and select architectural materials, systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with NYC building codes and architectural detailing.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of residential architecture experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• New York‑based and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and proactive.
• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.

• AutoCAD
• 3DS Max (including Forest Pack)
• SketchUp
• V‑Ray for 3DS Max and V‑Ray/Podium for SketchUp
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Acrobat)
