Project Architect – High-End Single-Family Residential

About the role

Our client, a Long Island‑based architecture and interior design firm, is seeking an experienced Project Architect to lead high‑end single‑family residential projects. This full‑time, hourly‑rate assignment offers the chance to work on luxury custom homes, including a waterfront residence in the Hamptons, with strong potential for a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Own projects from Design Development through Construction Administration.
• Produce detailed construction documents and coordinated drawing sets.
• Develop interior and exterior construction details.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical consultants.
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and consultants to support permitting and construction.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience on high‑end single‑family residential projects.
• Proven ability to manage projects from design through construction.
• Strong knowledge of wood‑frame and steel construction methods.
• Excellent communication skills with high‑end clients, consultants, and contractors.
• New York State Registered Architect preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit (ArchiCAD experience a plus).
• Advanced construction documentation, detailing, and technical drawing abilities.
• Experience coordinating structural, mechanical, and other engineering consultants.
• Familiarity with building codes, zoning, permitting, and approvals.
