Program Staff for After‑School Youth Program (Anchorage)

About the role

Camp Fire Alaska is seeking enthusiastic Program Staff to lead its after‑school School Age Program in Anchorage and Eagle River. The role involves supervising youth activities, ensuring a safe environment, and supporting the organization’s mission to help children discover their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise groups of youth during daily program hours (2 pm‑6 pm, Monday‑Friday).
• Facilitate hands‑on activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and structured play.
• Attend site meetings and training sessions (1‑2 hours per day, schedule varies).
• Transport yourself to the assigned site and be flexible to work at different locations as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum age 16 years (preference for 18 years or older due to licensing ratios).
• Full‑shift availability (20‑25 hours per week) and reliable transportation.
• Ability to adapt to different work locations within the Anchorage area.
• Experience working with children in a group setting is preferred.
• Background in youth development, education, or recreation is a plus.

Required skills

• Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid certification (provided after hire).
• Food Worker Card (provided after hire).
• Mandated Reporter training certificate (provided after hire).
• Health & Safety certificate (provided after hire).
