Program Specialist – Tribal Relations

About the role
The Program Specialist supports the Tribal Relations office at Fresno State, working under the Director of Tribal Relations. The role focuses on program operations, collaboration, and compliance preparation for CalNAGPRA and repatriation activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Tribal Relations program operations and collaboration initiatives.
- Assist the Repatriation Coordinator with CalNAGPRA preparation and compliance documentation.
- Create, maintain, and organize program records and data for reporting and strategic planning.
- Interpret and apply university policies and procedures independently.
- Manage competing priorities, meet critical deadlines, and deliver high‑quality customer service.
Required profile
- Knowledge of research and statistical analysis methods.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative.
- Proven capability to handle confidential information responsibly.

- Monthly salary range $4,799 – $4,993 (steps 1‑3) with potential up to $6,992.
