Program Specialist – Rural Health & Disaster Preparedness

About the role

The Program Specialist (EHE Rural Health and Disaster Preparedness) will support the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact at Georgetown University Medical Center. The role focuses on delivering policy‑informed technical assistance to local, state, and territorial health departments to improve HIV service delivery in rural areas and ensure continuity during disasters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement policy enhancements for the Georgetown University Technical Assistance Provider (GU‑TAP) program.
• Guide technical assistance staff in solving challenges that affect HIV service delivery in rural communities.
• Monitor jurisdictions at risk from natural or man‑made disasters and create resources to maintain HIV services during emergencies.
• Collaborate with the GU‑TAP core team, subject‑matter experts, and jurisdictional partners to embed policy insights into ongoing activities.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
• Master’s degree in Global Health or a related field.
• Four or more years of relevant experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven expertise in analyzing technical assistance outcomes for HIV service delivery.
• Experience supporting federally funded grants and contracts with strong administrative and documentation skills.
