Program Operations Specialist

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Community Health is seeking a Program Operations Specialist to support grant program development, financial monitoring, and operational analysis. This position plays a key role in ensuring effective use of state and federal funds to improve rural health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the development, management, and administration of a variety of state and federal grant programs.
• Prepare and monitor grant-related budgets, ensuring proper allocation of funds.
• Provide technical assistance to grantees and maintain comprehensive grant files.
• Research new funding opportunities and evaluate eligibility of potential grantees.
• Compile, analyze, and report operational data to support management decisions.
• Represent the State Office of Rural Health at meetings and conferences, both in‑state and out‑of‑state.

Required profile

• Under general supervision, capable of performing complex administrative and analytical tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and variances.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Experience with grant development and budget monitoring.
• Proficiency in data collection, compilation, and analysis.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to health grants.
