Program Educator – Intensive English Program (Part-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami’s Intensive English Program seeks a part‑time Program Educator to help international students develop English proficiency and academic study skills needed for U.S. university success. This temporary‑intermittent role involves classroom instruction, curriculum support, and student advising.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the department’s curriculum and deliver lessons to assigned classes.
• Develop and adapt teaching materials, exercises, and assessments.
• Assess student performance, record attendance and grades, and prepare sponsor reports.
• Provide two weekly office‑hour sessions for student consultation.
• Utilize the language lab as an instructional tool.
• Participate in required faculty meetings and collaborative planning.
• Submit evaluations, recommendations, and other feedback on student progress.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in TESL or a related field.
• Minimum two years of teaching experience in an academic ESL program.
• Experience living or teaching abroad.
• Strong focus on student services, teamwork, and cultural appreciation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canvas or willingness to learn the LMS.
• Ability to operate a language lab for language acquisition.
• General computer skills for record‑keeping and reporting.
