Program Director – P‑12 Engineering Education

About the role

The Spark! Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for pre‑K‑12 engineering education and broader‑impact initiatives across Texas A&M Engineering and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES). This role collaborates with faculty, research centers, school districts, industry and community partners to develop and deliver outreach programs, student competitions and professional development for educators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integration and expansion of P‑12 engineering education and outreach across Texas A&M Engineering and TEES.
• Establish new educational outreach programs, student competitions and educator learning opportunities in partnership with faculty, schools and industry.
• Identify and secure external funding, including grants, corporate sponsorships and philanthropic partnerships.
• Oversee operational and fiscal management of outreach initiatives to ensure sustainability and impact.
• Align programs with state, system, university and agency priorities and workforce development goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading education outreach or workforce development programs.
• Strong track record of securing external funding and managing budgets.
• Excellent collaboration skills with academic, industry and community stakeholders.
• Commitment to the mission and core values of Texas A&M Engineering and TEES.
