Program Associate – Vegetable Research Station (12‑Month)

About the role

The Vegetable Research Station is seeking a Program Associate for a 12‑month term. Reporting to the Resident Director, you will oversee all aspects of field plot research, ensuring smooth operation of planting, maintenance, and data collection activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and manage field plots for research experiments.
• Operate and maintain agricultural equipment, including irrigation and spraying systems.
• Perform planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting tasks.
• Record detailed observations and maintain accurate research logs.
• Supervise classified and seasonal hourly employees, assigning tasks and ensuring safety compliance.
• Oversee routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues.

Required profile

• Ability to manage and execute field research activities independently.
• Experience supervising hourly staff in an agricultural setting.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and record‑keeping.
