Program Associate - Irrigation Contest

About the role

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture is seeking a Program Associate to lead its Arkansas Irrigation Yield Contest and related irrigation education programs. This position combines field work, laboratory tasks, and data analysis to support water‑management research across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage the Arkansas Irrigation Yield contest, irrigation school programs, and county demonstration projects.
• Repair, install, and maintain irrigation equipment in field sites.
• Plant, cultivate, and harvest test crops; apply sprays as required.
• Collect data manually and from data‑logging devices, summarize results, and perform statistical analysis.
• Coordinate with faculty, extension staff, and county partners to ensure program success.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physical field work, including lifting and handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate data collection and reporting.
• Interest in agricultural water management and extension education.
