About the role
The Program Aide provides educational, relational and social experiences for infants, toddlers and preschool‑aged children within Save the Children’s Head Start programs. Working under the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director, you will support classroom activities, ensure a safe environment, and may travel to multiple sites or conduct home visits.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers and classroom staff with daily instructional and caregiving tasks.
- Support children’s development across all domains through play, learning materials, and family engagement events.
- Serve as a substitute for assistant teachers or teachers when needed.
- Provide custodial assistance such as cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining secure facilities.
- Monitor and report any concerns related to child safety and safeguarding in line with Save the Children policies.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors about important issues and program needs.
Required profile
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Capacity to build effective relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Commitment to child protection and adherence to organizational values.
