Professor of Spanish – Modern Language

About the role

San Jacinto College South Campus is seeking a Professor of Modern Language (Spanish) to design and deliver rigorous, student‑centered coursework, mentor learners, and contribute to the college’s scholarly community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Spanish language courses that foster critical thinking and practical application.
• Assess student performance with fairness, clarity, and timely feedback.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge in the field.
• Serve as an academic leader and mentor for students and junior faculty.
• Participate actively in college meetings, committees, task forces, and other community activities.
• Provide student access through posted office hours, electronic communication, and responsive support.
• Develop and maintain syllabi, course materials, and learning resources in line with institutional guidelines.
