Professional Social Service Worker – Savannah RYDC (Part‑time)

About the role

Join the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice as a Professional Social Service Worker at the Savannah RYDC. This part‑time position provides rehabilitation counseling, intake, and mental‑health services to youth under broad supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake services and mental‑health screenings for assigned youth.
• Perform comprehensive mental‑health assessments, interview youth and families, and identify psychosocial stressors.
• Develop and document treatment and crisis‑management plans, and provide individual, group, or family counseling.
• Make referrals to appropriate providers and ensure timely documentation in youth records.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with DJJ policies and OBHS guidelines.

Required profile

• Under broad supervision, provide rehabilitation counseling and resident evaluation.
• Part‑time role (<30 hours/week) without benefits.
• Ability to interview youth/families, review records, and identify needs and risks.
• Adherence to confidentiality regulations and agency policies.
