Professional-in-Residence – Public Relations Faculty

About the role

The LSU Manship School of Mass Communication seeks a distinguished communication practitioner to join its faculty as a Professional‑in‑Residence in Public Relations. This nine‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment begins in Spring 2027 and focuses on teaching undergraduate courses and contributing to the school’s service activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach four undergraduate courses each semester, covering core curriculum and topics such as public relations, strategic communication, corporate communication, and crisis communications.
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of service activities that support the school’s mission.
• Supervise undergraduate research and creative projects, potentially substituting for a fourth teaching load.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public relations, mass communication, or a related field with at least seven years of professional experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree in the same fields combined with ten or more years of relevant industry experience.
