About the role
The Professional Counselor III provides direct counseling services to students at East Texas A&M University, helping them achieve personal and academic success. This role supports a healthy campus environment by delivering evidence‑based interventions and mental‑health support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver individual, group, and crisis counseling to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Develop and implement preventative mental‑health programs and workshops.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus resources to coordinate comprehensive student support.
- Maintain accurate client records in compliance with university policies and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in campus outreach, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current Texas counseling licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
- Experience providing counseling services in a higher‑education setting.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
