Professional Assistant/Associate Professor, Mathematics

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks a Professional Assistant/Associate Professor for its Department of Mathematics. This nine‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty position is based on the main campus in Stephenville, Texas, and supports the university’s mission of teaching, research, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and possibly graduate mathematics courses across campus locations or approved online modalities.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and student advising.
• Contribute to the university’s research and scholarly activities as appropriate.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and fulfill related safety responsibilities.
• Potentially teach during the summer term, contingent on funding and need.

Required profile

• Doctorate or terminal degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach mathematics at the university level.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and community engagement.
• Willingness to work Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM, and adapt to teaching assignments as needed.
