Production Supervisor – Machine Shop Performance Leader (2nd Shift)

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the 2nd‑shift machine shop in Torrance, CA. The role combines hands‑on supervision of a team of machinists with responsibility for delivery, quality, efficiency and budget within a high‑performance aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise 18‑20 machinists on the 2nd shift, including hiring, training, performance management and talent development.
• Set, implement and track short‑ and long‑term team objectives that align with the company’s strategic plan.
• Coordinate with the Process Manager and support groups to drive lean improvements and achieve high‑impact results.
• Ensure maximum utilization of personnel and equipment through standard work and production scheduling.
• Manage employee‑relations matters, providing counseling, discipline and performance feedback.
• Create and communicate team goals, monitor progress and report results to the Process Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising machinists or production staff in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Ability to manage budget, delivery commitments and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team development.
• Willingness to work a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off) on the 2nd shift.
