Production Planner – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world and help drive manufacturing efficiency. This position offers a transition into a 3M career for candidates with private, public, government or military experience, focusing on production planning and supply chain coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production orders, monitor work‑center output, and improve operational efficiency to meet customer requirements.
• Place purchase orders, communicate with suppliers, and manage open orders to support service, inventory and cost targets.
• Maintain and optimize production planning parameters aligned with service and inventory goals.
• Work cross‑functionally to resolve material and capacity constraints, balancing service, inventory and cost.
• Publish and present service and inventory metrics, and support phase‑in/phase‑out planning.
• Lead and participate in continuous‑improvement projects, including inventory control responsibilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
• At least two years of combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics or manufacturing.
• Experience in material, production or supply planning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work on cross‑functional teams.

• Compensation range of $84,595 – $103,394 per year, including base pay and variable incentive.
