Production Operator – Assembly & Testing

About the role

Moog is seeking a Production Operator to join its Murphy, NC facility. You will work on assembling and testing electromechanical motor products, following detailed manufacturing documentation and using a variety of hand and automated tools.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble rotor, stator, and motor sub‑assemblies using provided tooling and documentation.
• Operate machine strippers, hand tools, stator potting mixers, and mold transfer presses.
• Install lead wire pin connectors, apply varnish, glue, and potting compounds to assemblies.
• Attach heat sinks to circuit boards and complete final motor/drive assembly.
• Load and monitor automated machinery, perform functional testing, and package finished products.
• Cross‑train on all production operations and maintain a clean work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Mechanical aptitude with good hand dexterity and color vision.
• Ability to lift 20 lb frequently and up to 40 lb occasionally.
• Comfort working around strong electromagnetic fields.
• Willingness to stand or sit for long periods and work overtime, including Saturdays.

Required skills

• Soldering (or ability to become certified).
• Operating machine stripper and hand tools.
• Operating stator potting mixer/applicator.
• Applying varnish, glue, and potting compounds.
• Operating mold transfer press.
• Attaching heat sinks to circuit boards.
• Monitoring automated production equipment.
