Production Line Manager – Sub‑Assembly (A350 PDS & FLS)

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Production Line Manager (PLM) to lead the Sub‑Assembly of A350 Passenger Door Surround (PDS) and Forward Lower Shell (FLS) frames. The PLM will provide technical leadership, ensure safety compliance, and drive operational excellence across all stations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all employees assigned to PDS & FLS frame stations, including selection, performance management, development, and recognition.
• Direct and oversee daily production activities, monitoring progress and ensuring on‑time delivery.
• Champion OSHA safety standards and embed a strong safety culture throughout the team.
• Report progress to senior management, flag potential issues, and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Quality, Procurement, and other support functions to improve workflow and process efficiency.
• Develop manpower forecasts based on workload and skill requirements.
• Identify, eliminate, and anticipate manufacturing problems early.
• Lead stations in achieving continuous‑improvement targets, quality gates, and KPI objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing production teams in an aerospace or high‑mix manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to forecast staffing needs and align resources with delivery schedules.
• Track record of driving continuous‑improvement initiatives and meeting quality standards.
