Production Engineer

About the role

Braskem America is seeking a Production Engineer to join its La Porte, TX plant. You will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing key process variables to improve safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement systems that enhance health, safety, environment, production rates, equipment reliability, cost, and quality.
• Oversee day‑to‑day plant operations and lead Continuous Improvement teams.
• Create business cases for improvement projects and support capital projects through the FEL process.
• Assist with commissioning, start‑up procedures, and root‑cause analysis for process and equipment issues.
• Provide technical data for environmental events, manage MOCs and PSSRs, and participate in PHAs.
• Review and resolve audit action items (HES, ISO, Insurance) and monitor product quality data.
• Investigate customer complaints, develop or modify operational procedures, and coordinate special product trials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Relevant experience in the petrochemical or chemical process industry.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and familiarity with plant safety studies.
