About the role
As a Product Quality & Reliability Engineer you will join the Semiconductor Products Group Quality team supporting the Imaging and Process Control Business Unit. You will lead or contribute to quality and reliability projects, work closely with development engineers, and ensure Design For Reliability (DFR) methods are embedded in new product development.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate materials, properties and manufacturing techniques from a reliability perspective for AMAT and its suppliers.
- Analyze non‑conformance and failure‑rate data to prioritize Q&R projects and prepare management reports.
- Review Engineering Change Requests for quality and reliability impact.
- Design and implement inspection, testing and evaluation methods for IPC product components and assemblies.
- Develop and execute reliability test plans, perform failure analysis, and drive 8D/FA projects to resolution.
- Perform FMECA, document CRAMS, and collaborate with suppliers and design engineers on reliability test plans.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Reliability or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality & Reliability engineering, preferably in semiconductor equipment or metrology.
- Strong knowledge of reliability concepts, mechanical/systems engineering, failure analysis, and DFR.
- Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills; ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
Required skills
- LEDs, Lasers, PCB and board assembly knowledge.
- Optics, Lithography and optical metrology expertise.
- Reliability analysis, failure analysis, FMECA, 8D problem‑solving.
- Use of AI tools to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
