Product Master – Surface Drills

About the role

The Product Master for Surface Drills will serve as the technical authority for Sandvik’s surface drilling portfolio, linking sales, product line, and field operations. The role ensures customers receive expert guidance, training, and support for new and existing technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the division technical contact between the Sales Area and EQ Product Line/factory.
• Ensure frontline readiness for new technologies and product introductions through training, parts provisioning, and operational readiness plans.
• Conduct advanced installations, repairs, inspections and troubleshooting of surface drill equipment at customer sites.
• Collect technical data, analyse failures, and feed product improvements back to the equipment division.
• Lead technical training, workshops and knowledge transfer for sales and service teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years experience with Sandvik surface drills or similar mining equipment.
• Engineering or technical qualification (degree/diploma) with relevant trade certification.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and transfer knowledge across global teams.
• Willingness to travel globally and work on customer sites.

Required skills

• Automation and control systems for rock drill equipment.
• Mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
• Rock Drills i‑Series expertise.
• Advanced technical report writing and digitalised equipment data handling.
• Reliability engineering assessment (≥80%).
