Product Engineer – Hydraulic Systems

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group in Orrville, Ohio is seeking a Product Engineer to support the development, testing and qualification of hydraulic equipment used in military and commercial applications. The role bridges design and production, ensuring unique customer‑specific products move from concept to reliable manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Support production of existing hydraulic equipment and transition new products from qualification to full‑scale production.
• Create engineering calculations, evaluate product function, and develop CAD models, part and assembly drawings.
• Write and execute test procedures for on‑site and off‑site qualification testing.
• Interface professionally with customers and suppliers during project reviews and resolve emergent technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams across Moog sites to leverage expertise and resources.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background with the ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a small‑site environment.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD modeling and drafting.
• Experience with hydraulic system design and analysis.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and evaluate product performance.
• Competence in developing and executing test procedures and qualification testing.
