Procurement Professional II

About the role

The Procurement Professional II supports Cal Poly Humboldt’s Contracts and Procurement Department by managing moderately complex purchasing activities. Working under general supervision, the role ensures compliance with federal, state, CSU and campus policies while delivering value through effective sourcing and contract management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare informal and formal Invitations for Bids (IFBs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including public works projects.
• Compile, review, and evaluate departmental requisitions and specifications.
• Conduct bid evaluations, analyze proposals, and recommend award decisions.
• Perform risk assessments and evaluate supplier responsiveness and responsibility.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions for goods, services, and public works.
• Maintain documentation of procurement actions and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Experience with procurement processes, contract development, supplier evaluation, and negotiation.
• Knowledge of federal, state, CSU, and campus procurement policies.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and analyze bid data.
• Full‑time availability with a one‑year probationary period.
