Procurement Forester

About the role

The Procurement Forester will manage the fiber supply chain for Drax’s wood‑pellet facilities across Southern North America. You will work closely with plant leadership and the central procurement team to ensure a reliable, low‑cost, high‑margin supply of forest fiber while supporting sustainability and certification standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the local Plant Manager and central Procurement team to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.
• Plan and execute fiber purchases for the assigned pellet plant.
• Develop data‑driven strategies to maintain a low‑cost, high‑margin fiber supply.
• Support compliance with forest certification standards and lead internal and external audits.
• Implement purchasing process improvements, focusing on supplier management and inventory continuity.
• Conduct weekly/monthly fiber inventory counts and tract audits.
• Communicate with fiber suppliers and manage execution of the fiber plan.
• Assist in developing the fiber plan and associated budget.
• Manage 3LOG/LIMS contracts, resolve load disputes and reconcile fiber receipts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, natural resources, supply chain management, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven mindset.
• High level of personal integrity and professionalism.
• Excellent attention to detail and project‑time management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills (MS Office).
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience with PowerBI.
• GIS knowledge.
• Familiarity with 3Log/Aldata systems.
• Ability to use statistical analysis tools (a plus).
