Procurement Buyer

About the role

The Procurement Buyer works under the Department Supervisor to manage procurement, planning, and inventory for the company's operations. The role focuses on developing global supplier strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while supporting safety and sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market and fleet research to identify suitable suppliers.
• Plan inventory levels and execute purchasing of materials.
• Select, negotiate with, and manage suppliers, including expediting shipments.
• Allocate and route materials to meet scheduled operational needs.
• Maintain ERP data, perform inventory counts, and adjust records as needed.
• Handle warranty, contract performance claims, and invoice discrepancies.
• Manage major supplier accounts and participate in contract creation and negotiation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory documents and the corporate Safety Management System.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direct and indirect guidance and become proficient in assigned procurement areas.
• Strong analytical skills to determine material requirements using ERP data.
• Effective communication with supervisors and suppliers to resolve operational issues.
• Willingness to travel to bases or vendor locations as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
