Procurement Analyst – University Finance

About the role

The Procurement Analyst supports Georgetown University’s Capitol Campus by managing end‑to‑end procurement and supplier contract lifecycles. This role ensures that purchasing, invoicing, and financial reporting align with campus‑specific Service Level Agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the procure‑to‑pay process, from requisition initiation to purchase order issuance and goods receipt.
• Manage supplier contracts, determine contract needs, and process contract requests.
• Track invoices, resolve payment triage issues, and handle match exceptions.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial reports and spend analyses across non‑compensation expense categories.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on procurement‑sourcing, collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve university‑wide procurement operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong financial acumen covering budgeting, chart of accounts, requisitions, purchase orders, and travel expenses.
• Ability to interpret and communicate university policies to diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and capability to triage and escalate complex issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate).
• Experience with ERP systems and generating system reports for financial management.
• Data‑analysis ability to identify errors, challenges, and process‑improvement opportunities.
