Process Technician – Petrochemicals

About the role

We are seeking a Process Technician to join BASF’s Petrochemicals team at the Pasadena, Texas site. The role supports safe and efficient operation of production equipment, logistics and quality assurance in a high‑performance, team‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor DCS and manual equipment to ensure safe, reliable production.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to manufacture products and record operating data.
• Collect samples, interpret results and adjust processes as needed.
• Handle waste in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Perform SAP transactions for raw materials, production and maintenance.
• Conduct routine maintenance, lockout/tagout and issue safe‑work permits.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics for truck, rail and marine shipments.
• Adhere to PPE, confined‑space, DOT, USCG and HazMat safety protocols.
• Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished goods and collaborate with the QA laboratory.
• Support additional operational tasks as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; Process Technology degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
• Physical capability to lift 25‑50 lb, work in confined spaces and high‑noise/temperature environments.
• 3+ years experience in chemical, refinery or manufacturing environments (preferred).
• Experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with DCS systems and participation in Emergency Response Teams.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts such as 5S.
