Process Technician - 3rd Shift

About the role

Tru Vue Inc. is hiring a Process Technician for its 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-6:30am) in Faribault. The technician is part of a team responsible for the daily operation of the coating line production system, including system control and adjustment of process parameters. The role also involves helping develop work instructions, auditing them, training and certifying team members and supporting special projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the gas system, power supplies, drive system, vent and pumping systems, and all testing equipment required for the position
• Check instrument calibrations and troubleshoot instruments
• Prepare samples for experiments and long-term environmental testing
• Conduct tune-in and design control of Tru Vue optical coatings
• Monitor yields and help troubleshoot defects with Quality Assurance Technicians, the supervisor and support staff to minimize yield loss
• Rotate duties with other Process Technicians and production staff, record data at set intervals and maintain organized data records
• Document and monitor procedures to reduce variation, and audit and improve work instructions
• Troubleshoot process equipment such as vacuum gauges, turbo pumps, power supplies, cathodes and leak-checking equipment
• Take part in team problem-solving, root cause analysis, maintenance of the vacuum system and continuous improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field desirable
• Two years' manufacturing experience preferred
• Detailed, organized work style, strong math aptitude and computer skills
• Ability to work in a team, cross-train and lead others positively
• High sensitivity to quality, on-time delivery and multi-cultural workplaces

Required skills

• Familiarity with vacuum system operation and control
• Process control experience is a plus
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma familiarity preferred
• Excel, Word and Outlook, and electronic quality records
