Process Engineering Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a front‑line manager to lead a team of technical contributors in its Electron Microscopy and materials characterization lab. You will supervise daily operations, keep the lab on schedule, and develop both the team and analytical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to professional technical staff, setting priorities and removing roadblocks.
• Act as a technical and operational advisor, stepping in hands‑on to keep schedules on track.
• Track and analyze performance of staff and lab equipment, using data to drive improvements.
• Continuously improve lab workflows, recommending changes to processes, protocols, and policies.
• Recruit, interview, and hire new talent while administering company policies fairly.

Required profile

• 2+ years of managerial experience and 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Strong background in Electron Microscopy (SEM/TEM) or broad metrology and failure‑analysis techniques.
• Excellent critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills with data‑driven decision making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
