Process Engineer

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing, is seeking a Process Engineer in Santa Clara, CA. In this role you will design and optimize manufacturing processes, collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, troubleshoot complex engineering issues, measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and work directly with customers to resolve concerns. You will collaborate with vendors and suppliers, implement new technologies and analytical instrumentation, and serve as a resource for junior colleagues while leading project teams as needed.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4‑7 years of relevant experience. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in complex problem solving, root‑cause analysis, and the ability to interpret data from process experiments. Strong technical skills in hardware characterization, film property measurement, data analysis, and technical documentation are essential.
