PRN Registered Nurse – Adult ICU, Med/Surg & Oncology

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide flexible, high‑quality care across Adult Intensive Care, Medical‑Surgical, and Oncology units. This temporary, fixed‑term position supports patient care continuity while offering a diverse clinical experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients in ICU, Med/Surg, and Oncology settings.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to emergent situations promptly.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and post‑discharge care.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Arkansas.
• Experience in adult ICU, Med/Surg, or Oncology preferred.
• Ability to work flexible PRN shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and critical thinking.
• IV therapy and medication administration.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification; Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) preferred.
