PRN Patient Registration Customer Service Rep

About the role

R1, a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative for Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital Elmbrook. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration in a fast-paced environment. The shift is PRN/as needed, with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 hours on call; additional shifts are available. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate information quickly
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
