Private Equity Analyst – Boston

About the role

Main Capital Partners is expanding its North American investment team and seeks a driven Private Equity Analyst to join the Boston office. You will be involved in the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing opportunities to supporting portfolio companies, gaining hands‑on experience in software and SaaS investing.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and execute private equity investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform valuation and returns analysis.
• Conduct financial and operational due diligence on target companies.
• Prepare investment memoranda and other deal documentation.
• Support portfolio companies through KPI tracking, M&A strategy assistance, and value‑creation initiatives.
• Perform market and industry research to inform investment decisions.

Required profile

• Based in Boston or willing to relocate and work on‑site five days a week.
• Strong academic background in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of investment banking or transaction advisory experience (MM or LMM).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help build the firm’s US presence.
