Principal Technology Risk Analyst

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Technology Risk Analyst to lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of risk and control practices across its Payment Networks Core technology environment. This senior individual contributor will act as a thought leader, guiding engineering and operational teams to embed resilient, compliant systems throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze end‑to‑end business processes, system architectures and transaction flows to identify operational, security, compliance and technology risks.
• Partner with engineering, product and operations teams to define control requirements, assess coverage and evaluate control design.
• Develop and execute risk‑based control testing strategies, identify deficiencies and drive remediation plans.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, translating risk, regulatory and compliance requirements into practical, scalable control solutions.
• Enhance risk and control methodologies, governance practices and monitoring capabilities to improve risk visibility and operational resilience.
• Leverage data analytics, dashboards and reporting tools to monitor control health, detect emerging risk trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Principal‑level experience with deep expertise in technology risk, controls and compliance.
• Strong background in engineering or operations within complex technology environments.
• Proven ability to lead risk and control initiatives, influence cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on measurable, scalable risk strategies aligned with enterprise risk frameworks.
