Principal Electrical Engineer, Integration & Test

About the role

Radiant Industries is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical system architecture and test infrastructure for its portable nuclear microreactor, Kaleidos, slated for commercial deployment in 2028. The role covers end‑to‑end electrical integration, from defining requirements through hardware bring‑up, testing, and commissioning, acting as the technical authority for the electrical and validation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own electrical and software integration requirements, including power distribution, signal conditioning, sensor mapping, actuator interfaces, and device simulation.
• Design, build, and maintain the electrical test infrastructure that validates the Kaleidos unit before the 2028 deployment target.
• Coordinate communication between hardware, control systems, and software interfaces.
• Develop and drive the electrical validation strategy, creating test procedures, methodologies, and best practices.
• Manage schedule, budget, and vendor relationships for electrical hardware and integration activities.
• Optimize test and validation processes through tooling and automation.
• Support electrical integration across multiple critical subsystems and lead design reviews with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including hands‑on hardware design, integration, and test.
• Proven track record of leading complex hardware programs from concept to deployment.
