Principal - Cloud Data Architect

About the role

Risk Intelligence, a division of LSEG focused on risk insights and solutions, is looking for a Principal Cloud Data Architect to join its Digital Identity & Fraud Engineering team. As a Senior Technologist, you will give technical direction to the team's products, work closely with enterprise teams to align technical choices with product architecture, mentor team members and help drive initiatives that bring customer value and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable and cost-effective data architecture and lead the adoption and integration of AWS/Azure architecture services with multi-functional teams
• Collaborate with data engineers to prepare and deliver raw data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
• Assess and advocate data management technologies and practices, and close the gap between the current state and a targeted future state
• Deliver strategic plans that improve data integration, data quality and data delivery in support of business initiatives
• Articulate architectural trade-offs and recommend optimal solutions that meet technical requirements
• Mentor and develop staff through teaching, empowerment and influence
• Work with customers and developers to improve the value of client data, share thought leadership on emerging trends and share project outcomes to improve future delivery

Required profile

• 12+ years of proven experience implementing on-premises and cloud data management, integration, visualization and analytical technologies
• Strategic thinking, relating architectural decisions to customer needs and assessing traditional and modern data components against business needs
• Familiarity with data governance standards covering MDM, security, privacy and policies

Required skills

• End-to-end data architecture, including ingestion, storage and relational modeling with SQL and Python
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Kinesis, DataFlow, Airflow), NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, HBase, CosmosDB)
• GraphQL and modern data warehouse tools such as Snowflake and Databricks
